Ten children were raised by their paternal care and received such advantage of education as those times would permit. In the fall of 1828 the husband and father was taken away by the hand of Death. Since then Mrs. W. has lived a widow. In early life she loved the religion of Christ and was for many years a member of the Presbyterian Church. She has gone to her rest, and children and grandchildren may hope again to meet her in a blissful immortality.
*The Wilcox family first moved to a place called Middlebury near Akron in what is now Summit County. This original land was found to be unsuitable, and the family moved to Deerfield Township to a spot northeast of the center along the Mahoning River.
