Genevieve Rathbone Ledford, 89, died Monday, November 28, 2005, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Etta Rathbone. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Ledford Holland, and a son, Gus David Ledford. Mrs. Ledford was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, William Ledford of Fines Creek; two daughters, Louise Sutton and her husband Robert of Candler and Anna Jean Henson and her husband Sam of Canton; one son, Joe Ledford and his wife Jessie of Canton; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 1:50 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Dewayne Ledford, Matthew Swanger, Damon Swanger, Sammy Joe Henson, David Holland and Jeff Foster.
