He was a member of First United Methodist Church in York, Masonic Lodge 56 AF&AM, Sesostris and American Legion.
Survivors include one son, Russell of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Claude of York and Robert of Pratt, Kan.; and one sister, Mrs. Betty (B. C.) Kupper of Ogallala.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
