Services for Sara Stroud, 69, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Sanders Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Les Jackson of Nurscare of Lubbock. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Sara passed away Friday at her home. She was born August 15, 1939 in Petersburg, Texas. She was raised in Lubbock graduating from Lubbock High School in 1957. She married Mack Stroud December 27, 1957 in Lubbock. She worked 28 years at Texas Tech University, retiring from the Landscape and Architecture Department.
Sara was a devoted wife for 50 years and a loving mother/grandmother that enjoyed her grandchildren to the fullest degree. Sara became a Christian at a very early age and followed her Christian walk throughout her entire life. She was loved by all of her family and friends and will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her Husband Mack; two sons, Mike Stroud and wife Orlene of Lubbock, Nick Stroud and wife Lori of Lubbock; one daughter, Terri Stroud Mokry and husband Scott of Leander; six grandchildren, Carl, Morgan, Lauren, Kathryn, Luke, and Lora; one brother, Jarrell Young of Abilene; three sisters, Mary Runkles of Midland, Barbara Grimes of Lubbock, and Judy Peterson of Temple.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Sanders Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Dr. Phillips and the staff at NursCare. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to NursCare Hospice.
