Dean and his family moved to Pittsburg when he was 14 years old. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1945.
Dean served his country in the Army for two years. He trained in the Philippines, and was stationed in Japan during the reconstruction immediately following the war. Dean also served for several years in the Army Reserves.
Dean married Delores "Dee" Ross on July 1, 1951, at the First Christian Church.
He graduated from Kansas State Teacher's College (PSU) in 1951 with a degree in Design Engineering.
Dean worked at the Helio aircraft plant prior to working for McNally's Manufacturing as a design engineer for 37 years. He retired from McNally's in 1989. He and his wife owned and managed apartments and several single family residential homes in Pittsburg.
Dean was a member of the First Christian Church for over 60 years, and served as an elder and deacon.
One of his biggest joys was spending time at their home on Grand Lake. He was also blessed to travel to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe and the Caribbean, including several cruises.
Survivors include his wife Dee, two sons Michael & Mitchel & five grandchildren.
