He was the son of Chester and Cora (Gibson) Sharp. On Oct 4, 1954, he married Thursa Rhodes, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Darren, Wapakoneta; a daughter, Linda (Venard) Morris, St. Johns; a brother, Alan (Velma), St. Marys; three sisters, Gertrude (William) Wilder, Pineville, and Loretta Cawood and Hazel (Robert) Adams, all St. Marys; five grandchildren, Danny (Tamara) Roller, Matthew (Tara) Morris, Carrie Buchanan, Victoria Sharp, and Eric Sharp; six great-grandchildren, Madison and Caleb Morris, Mitchell and Gabriella Roller, Emily Morris, Alexia Petersime.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He retired from the maintenance department at Nu-Tek Foods in Wapakoneta and had also worked at the former Avco-New Idea in Coldwater. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the St Marys Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alva Daniel officiating.
