Oravle Carey, 76, of 158 Bray's Lake Road, Royston, Ga. died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga. Mr. Carey was born in Franklin County, Ga., March 27, 1932, son of the late George Fowler and the late Pearline Smith Carey. He was a retired truck driver having worked with Borden Milk Company, BandW Gas Company that later became Amerigas where he retired. Mr. Carey was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, and was a life long member of the Harrison McCrary V.F.W. Post #4828. He was a former member of the Royston Bass Club and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors Include: Wife: Mary Donna Carey Royston, Ga.; Son and Daughter-in-Law Dale and Janet Carey Royston, Ga. : Daughters and Sons-in-Law; Tammy and Steve Campbell Royston, Ga.; Renee and Reese Lewallen Carnesville, Ga., Michelle and Warren Gipson Carnesville, Ga.; Grandchildren: Valerie and Eric Hall, Megan Carey, Cassie Carey Ayers, Jeff Campbell, Maribeth Gipson and Will Gipson., Brother: Jake Carey Carnesville, Ga.;Sister: Myrtle Whitworth, Gainesville, Ga. He was preceded in death by: (1) Son - Jeff Carey. Funeral Service for Mr. Carey will be at 3:30 P.M., Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Middle River Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Osteen, Rev. Phil Campbell, Rev. Jerome Hill and Rev. Leon Carson officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Memorial Gardens Franklin Springs. Pallbearers will be: Harley Campbell, Clyde Harper, Joe Price, Joe Duncan, Jay Scott and Judd Scott. The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga. where the family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday December 17, 2008. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 P.M. Thursday December 18, 2008. The family is at the home. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga. is in charge of arrangements.
