Friederich (Frederich) Buchmiller was of German-descent who was born in Chernov (Chernigov), Russia and who immigrated to America in 1900 on a ship named Penitica. He traveled with his wife Margareta Hahn Buchmiller and six children. Their last two children were born in North Dakota. Most of family then moved to Milton-Freewater, Oregon. Friederich and Margareta (Maggie) were Seventh Day Adventists.
