In 1860, he was a laborer living with and/or working for farmer Henry Hagy in Penn Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted - oddly for his age group (if the birth date shown here is correct), understating his age by one year - and mustered into federal service at Lancaster February 20, 1865, as a private with Co. K, 195th Pennsylvania Infantry. He honorably discharged with his company January 31, 1866. The 195th served only guard duty and suffered no casualties other than deaths by disease.

On February 20, 1865, when Henry was about 20 years old, he enlisted in the Union Army (Company K - 195th Pennsylvania Infantry). Henry listed his address as Brickerville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. At induction, he was a private and at discharge he was a private.

Henry lived for: 75 years, 1 month and 1 day. He died from "Leukemia"
