Uncle Mel was born to Claude and Eva (Rockenbach) in Lucky Strike, Canada in 1917. Mel was the 6th child out of 9 children(Connie, Irene, Maxine (my grandma), John, Pete, Lawrence, Rex, and Ralph (who still is living).
Uncle Mel worked at the refinery in Sunburst. Later he and his family farmed in the Sweetgrass, Montana area for several years. After that Mel worked at various ranches until retirement, at which time he moved to East Helena to be near his sons. Uncle Mel used to love to talk about the rodeos that he rode during the 30's and 40's. Another past time of Uncle Mel's was Cribbage, he could play all day if you let him.

When I find the correct burial info, I will update.

A very heartfilled thank you to Panther for sponcering Uncle Mel's page.
