ZITA KOCH SIMS, 88, of Memphis, retired nurse, died of heart failure Saturday at St. Peter Villa Nursing Home. Mass will be said at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Therese-Little Flower Catholic Church with burial in Memorial Park. Family Funeral Care has charge. She was a member of Josephine Lewis Senior Citizens Center and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Sims, the widow of Marvin Eugene Sims, leaves a daughter, Charlotte Sims Hart of Memphis; two sons, Roy E. Sims of Benton, Ark.,and Marvin Brent Sims of Memphis; a sister, Helen McPherson of Mississippi, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests any memorials be sent to St. Therese-Little Flower Catholic Church or St. Peter Villa. (Published in The Commercial Appeal 6/13/2000)

Zita was born on Highland Drive, in East Memphis, Tenn. She died of heart failure, at the age of 88, in the St. Peter Villa Nursing Home, in Memphis, Tenn. Zita was married to Marvin Eugene Sims in 1936. They had three children:
1. Charlotte (Sims) Hart
2. Roy Sims
3. Marvin Brent Sims
