Harvey Darden, 58, of Route I died Friday in a Norfolk hospital. He was a native of Southampton County and the husband of Pearl Drewry Darden. He was a farmer and businessman and was a charter member of Forks of the River Ruritan Club. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 151 and a trustee of Sycamore Baptist church. Other survivors include two daughters, Peggy Ross and Pam Padgett, a son Harvey Darden, Jr., of Franklin; two sisters, Louise Vaughan and Dorothy Cotton and three brothers, Hunter Darden, Jr., Charles B. Darden and Thomas I. Darden, all of Franklin; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 4:30 p.m. today in Wright Funeral Home by the Revs. David Adams and Diltiz E. Payne. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
