He was born north of Guthrie, near Boydsville, on Dec. 15, 1895. He was the only child of Alexander Campbell and Elizabeth E. Hays Ewing. He was married March 15, 1919, to Lillian Redman Brooks who preceded him in death on Dec. 16, 1933.
Survivors include six children: Geraldine Ewing O'Toole and her husband, Ray, of Downey, Calif.; Gladys Ewing Miller and her husband, John, of Tebbetts; Russell Kenneth Ewing and his wife, Dorothy, of Tebbetts; Irven Pryor Ewing and his wife, Ann of Mokane; Juanita Ewing Attebery and her husband, W.T, of Fulton; and Hazel Ewing Daro and her husband, Edward of Fairbanks, Alaska; 17 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ewing lived most of his life in Missouri. He was a farmer and also raised cattle and horses.
Funeral services for Mr. Ewing will be conducted by the Rev. Harold Case at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in the White Cloud Cemetery, west of Fulton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine or to the charity of the donor's choice.
