Charlotte was the daughter of Daniel Lundy and Rebecca Snodgrass

Her birth name was Charlotta and she was referred to as Lotta.

The names of Charlotte and Charlotta are both found on documents, along with the nickname of Lotta. Whether the name Lotta was used frequently is not known, however it does show on the 1880 census and someone told the census taker her name was Lotta.

On November 13, 1885 page 4, the Martin County Democrat, Martin County, Indiana reported that this McBride family had moved to Missouri.

Due to the time-frame of which Joshua and Charlotte were living in Lawrence County Missouri with their sons, research is underway to discover if Joshua died in Lawrence County, Missouri or in Indiana. Joshua wrote his son Jeremiah a letter in 1895 from Lawrence County, Missouri. It appears then that sometime in 1896 or shortly after that date, Charlotte came back to Indiana when her husband Joshua or son James died.

No record of Joshua's death has been found in documents or newspaper articles in either Indiana or Missouri. Pending further research.

Documents attached hereto prove accurate date of Charlotte's death.

Charlotte married Joshua McBride on 9 August 1849 in Dover Hill, Martin County, Indiana.

They were the parents of these documented children:

1. Amanda McBride Hamersley, 1850–1900 -Died before the 1900 census

2. James William McBride, 1852–1896 Married to Mary Presnall. - Died and is buried in Lawrence County, Missouri.

3. John McBride 1855–1935, Married Mahala Girdley and raised his family in Lawrence County, Missouri where he died and is buried there next to his wife Mahala.

4. Jeremiah McBride, married Isis Gaither and then Lora Guthrie.

5. Albert McBride, 1862–1907 Place of death unknown. Married later in life.

In 1885 the Martin County Democrat announced that Joshua McBride and his family had moved to Missouri.

In 1895 both Joshua and Charlotte were still living in Lawrence County, Missouri near their sons William and John. Joshua wrote letters home to his son Jeremiah in 1895. Did Joshua die in Lawrence County, Missouri?

The 1900 census states that Charlotte had five children and three were living at the time of the census taking. The living children would be Jeremiah, John and Albert. Amanda and (James) William had already died.
