AUGUST HILTHAUS [ Holthaus ]
EARVILLE SPECIAL - August (Ben) Holthaus, 86, former resident of the county, passed away Saturday at the Highland hospital in Belvidere, Ill., following an illness of one week.

Mr. Holthaus was born Dec. 28 1877, at Colesburg where he lived until 1961 after which he made his home with his daughter, Mrs George Crawford of Belvidere.

Funeral services were held from the First Methodist church at Colesburg on Tuesday. Burial was in the Zion cemetery near Colesburg with the William Cotton officiating. The Clifton funeral home was in chrage of the arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. George (Faith) Crawford of Belvidere, Ill., Mrs. Stanley (Pearl) Ross of Colesburg and Mrs. Reuben (Bernice) Daake of Charles City; three sons, Marvin and Stanley, both of Colesburg and Burdette of Martelle; twenty grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
