Louise Albright Martin Totten, 86, passed from this life on Saturday, December 6,2008 at Saint Simeon's
Health Care Center in Tulsa, OK., following several years of declining health. She was born to Burney &
Emma Albright in Harper, Kansas a n d spent most of her youth in Wichita, Kansas. Louise married her high
school sweetheart, Harold Martin, and lived in Wichita, working as a secretary for Forrester Manufacturing
Co. before moving with her family to Red Rock, Oklahoma in 1957. Harold a n d Louise, along with their 3
children, ran the Red Rock Cafe, serving their famous Red Rock Chili until Harold's death in 1963.
Louise was an accomplished horsewoman and loved all the family animals. She married Jim Totten
from Billings, Oklahoma & moved with him to Norman in 1965, where they owned a n d managed several
apartment rentals a n d enjoyed gardening, collecting rose rocks, following the OU Sooners a n d traveling in
their motor home with the Good Sam travel club. Louise was proud that she visited all 50 US states. She was
a 35 year Norman Hospital volunteer and enjoyed performing in the Red Stocking Follies fund raisers.
Louise loved the Lord and previous attended Trinity Baptist a n d First Baptist Church in Norman
where she sang in the choir and most recently attended the Apostolic Worship Center in Norman. She moved
to Tulsa in 2002 to be nearer her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands a n d sisters, Beulah Blankenship, Grace Whitley
& Mary Zinn a n d great-grandson Logan Smith. She is survived by her daughter Susan Carter a n d husband
Jack of Tulsa, son, Mike Martin of Independence, MO, and daughter Amy Kubala a n d husband Bob of
Coshocton, OH, 5 grandchildren, Shelly Austin of Tulsa, Stacy Myer of Miami, FL, Jason Martin of Tulsa,
Lisa Smith of Ada, OK, and Katie Bell of NYC a n d 7 great-grandchildren, AshIey a n d Lauren Austin,
David a n d Kristin Smith, Nash Myer a n d Baker a n d Deacon Martin
Services will be held Wednesday, December 10th, at 11 am at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401
Havenbrook St. in Norman, with the Rev. Kevin Borders officiating. There will be open visitation from 10 --
11 am on Wednesday prior to the service. Louise will then be buried in the Red Rock cemetery next to her
husband Harold.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Norman Regional Hospital Fund through the Ladies Auxiliary, at 901 N. Porter, Norman, OK 73071.
