"Patrick Burke, Well-known Kincaid Resident Dies"

Patrick Burke, 65, of Kincaid died at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He had been a patient since December 20, 1982 and he had been in ill health for two years.

Mr. Burke was born in Springfield on April 4, 1917, the son of Michael James and Ada Alice Manuel Burke. He married Margaret E. Smith on August 27, 1938 in St. Charles, Illinois. Mr. Burke was a coal miner for 40 years and during the last ten years he has served as a board member of District 12 United Mine Workers of America.

Surviving is his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Dana (Donna) Lane of Taylorville; brothers, Charles Burke of Springfield; Joseph Burke of Farmersville; Robert Burke of Joliet; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Margaret) Freeman of Port Richey, Florida; Betty Borgognoni of Kincaid; three grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Masterson Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Campbell, pastor of St. Rita's Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Friends may call in the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m. this evening.
