Mrs Betsey Crofoot died Tuesday evening at the home of Levi Higby on Crofoot Hill in her 84th year. Mrs Crofoot was born in the town of Turin, and was well and favorably known. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Roland Jones, one of a family, of eight children. For the past 40 years she had resided on a farm about one mile from Constableville. December 1st the house was burned and Mrs Crofoot, who had been an invalid for the fast few years, was carried out by her son Frank, to a neighbor's and later removed to the home of Levi Higby, where she died. She was a member of the M. E. church on Crofoot Hill, where the funeral service will be held today. There are surviving one brother, Reese Jones of St Lawrence county; two daughters, Mrs James Jones of Lowville, and Miss Florence Crofoot of Mt Vernon, and one son, Frank Crofoot of Constableville.
