George Tom Cessna, 77, Sumner, died Sunday, Oct. 14, at 4:33 p.m. in Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.

Visitation and services will be in the Sivert-Macey Funeral Home in Sumner with Rev. J.C. Smith presiding. Burial will be in Petty Cemetery, with military graveside rites.

Mr. Cessna was born Aug. 16, 1907, in Lawrence County, the son of Arthur Garfield and Katherine (Shilder) Cessna.

He married Emily Swiatek Dec. 10, 1956, and she survives.

He was a guard at Island Steel in Gary, Ind. and was a postal employee, also in Gary.

He was a World War II veteran.

Other survivors include three sons, Thomas Eugene and George Robert, both of Flora; Lewis Ray, Lawrenceville; a daughter, Ethel Delores Foote; two .brothers, Clarence, Sumner; Paul, Gary, Ind.; four sisters, Lola Gasperik, Sumner; Mary Sechrest and Alice Gerrell, botli of Bridgeport; Fay Howell, Shoals, Ind, 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
