RISING CITY -- Gladys I. From, 96, of Rising City, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 at Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Rising City, with the Rev. J. Green officiating. Burial is at David City Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. today at Roberts Funeral Home in David City and continues Monday at the church for one hour prior to services.
Mrs. From was born July 30, 1905 in Rising City to Lorence and Anna (Beierle) Bock. She graduated from eighth grade from the West Olive School.
She married Ray From on Feb. 23, 1927 in David City.
She was a member of the church and a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, flowers, crocheting, bingo and cards.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Allen) Laird of Rising; one sister, Eloine From of David City; one sister-in-law Eva Bock of Denver; and one brother-in-law, Harold Heins of David City; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1983; three brothers, Joseph, Marion and Dale Bock; and two sisters, Mabel Knott and Grace Siedel.
Memorials may be directed to the Rising City Volunteer Fire Department or to the family.
