Conduct Funeral Services Friday for Mrs. Bock
Anna Augusta Beierle, daughter of John and Anna Beierle, was born on a homestead near Ulysses April 11, 1880, and died at the Clarkson hospital in Omaha on Monday, June 30.
Her early childhood was spent on the farm where she was born. Later the family moved to a farm east of Rising City.
She was married to Lorence J. Bock in David City Aug. 25, 1897. For a number of years they lived on a farm west of David City. Two years were also spent at Ashland following which they moved to Bellwood. Her husband died Aug 22, 1935.
For 18 years she lived with her son Marion in David City until his death on Aug 28, 1953. Since that time she had made her home with another son, Dale, also in David City.
Mrs. Bock is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mabel Knott of Omaha, Mrs. Grace Siedel and Mrs. Eloine From of David City and Mrs. Gladys From of Surprise; two sons, Joseph and Dale of David City; 22 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Clouse and Mrs. Lena Shay of David City and Mrs. Laura Taddiken of Osceola; and one brother Thomas Beierle of David City.
At the age of 16 she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church of Millerton. Later she transferred her membership to the Methodist Church and since 1938 had been a member of St. Luke's Methodist church in David City.
Rev. Mearl C. Smith conducted the funeral services at the Knott Funeral Chapel Friday afternoon, July 2. Mrs. Ramona Marker was soloist, accompanited by Mrs. Enid Soukup.
Serving as pallbearers were Bernard Knott, Theodore Knott Jr., Edwin Hunsche, Norval Hoeft, Donald Knott and Charles Knott. Burial was in the David City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bock was the daughter of the late John Beierle and Anna Kirschner Beierle of David City.
