Ollie Lucille Wakefield, 83, died May 11, 2008 at Advanced Healthcare in Ellington, Mo.
She was born April 18, 1925 in Ellington, daughter of the late Clarence and Lillie (Colyott) Buxton.
She was united in marriage to William Carter Wakefield Nov. 19, 1946 in Piggott, Ark.
Mrs. Wakefield was a member of the Ellington First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and making cinnamon rings for others. She liked flowers, listening to the family singers and going for rides.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond (June) Wakefield, Springfield, Ronald (Sandy) Wakefield, Ellington; stepson, W.C. (Norma) Wakefield, Ellington; stepdaughter, Mary Lou Becker, Dupo, Ill.; five brothers, Edward Buxton, Dupo, Ill., Elmer Buxton, Ellington, Joy Buxton, Van Buren, Ray Buxton, High Ridge, Virgil Buston, California; one sister, Stella Wilkerson, St. Clair; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one son, Richard Wakefield, and one daughter, Roberta Lucille Hedrick.
The funeral was held May 14 at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, with Rev. Kenneth McIntosh and Pastor Jim Stewart officiating. Music was provided by Randy Buxton and Friends Pickin.
Pallbearers were Troy Wakefield, Jimmy Wakefield, George Morris, Mark Dement, Brad Long and Luke Davis. Burial was in Ellington Memorial Cemetery.
