Margaret was born on Sept. 30, 1913, in Peoria, Ill., and was a lifelong resident of Peoria. She was the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Herring) Aylward. She married Earl D. Ruckle on May 26, 1937, in Peoria. He passed away June 29, 1970.
She is survived by two sons, Richard E. (Barb) Ruckle of Morton and Gary L. (Ardeane) Ruckle of Peoria; one daughter, Carol J. DeJarnett of Peoria; a sister, Lucile (Delmar) Lauterbach of Bartonville; eight grandchildren, Keith Ruckle of Metamora, Stacy Noe of Mackinaw, Constance Kissner of Peoria, Bonnie Gilmore and Suzette Leon, both of Chillicothe, Jenniffer Wohletz of Shobonier, Ill., Allison Yumlu of Elmwood Park, Ill., and Vanessa Ruckle of New Lenox, Ill.; 13 great-grandchildren, Griffin and Chase Noe, Ashley Gilmore, Robert Kissner, Leanne, D.J. and Swayde Gibler, Michael and Kaylin Leon, Michael and Alan Yumlu, Nathan and Noah Wohletz; and one great-great-grandson, Ryne Sturdivant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James, Robert, Jack and Thomas "Ed," Aylward; and sisters Catherine Auten and Betty Hinners.
Margaret was a homemaker all her life.
Her greatest pleasures in life were visiting with her children, all of her grandchildren and working with the Women of Mount Calvary at her church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 908 W. Hanssler Place. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the church. Pastor Barry Long will officiate. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
