Euretta Ellen, known as Ellen, was the second child born to Alexander Chambers and Miranda Isabell Menefee, arriving in Hill County, Texas, in the fall of 1877. She appeared with her parents and 2 sisters on the 1880 Census (ED 9; Pg 373-C) in the household of her widowed maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Manson Menefee, in Bosque County, Texas. Nearby was her 76-year-old great-grandmother, Elizabeth Manlove Menefee, who was living with her late grandfather's sister's family, Sarah E (Menefee) and Henry Fossett. By 1900, the growing Chambers family had moved to neighboring Erath County, and Ellen, who was by then age 22, appeared there in her parents' household on that year's census (ED 72; Pg 17-B).

At the age of 24, she married the oldest son of Nathan Andrew Robertson, George Washington (Her sisters Mary Levicy and Lucy Jane later married two of George's brothers). The marriage took place on 18 Sept 1902 in Erath County, Texas, and shortly thereafter they moved to Oklahoma. They settled in Pottawatomie County and lived there a number of years as evidenced by the 1910 (Moore Township; ED 217; Pg 14-A) and 1920 (Forest Township; ED 219; Pg 2-B) Census records. Eventually, however, the family settled in Baca County, Colorado, not far from her sister Ethel May and Ethel's husband C J Malmberg. Ellen died at the age of 89 in town of Walsh in Baca County.
