Abraham Bush was born May 28, 1775 in Bridgewater Township, Somerset County, New Jersey and died in November, 1840 in Boundbrook, Somerset County, New Jersey at the age of 65.

He married Sarah (Sally) Prall ca. 1804. Sally was the daughter of John Prall and Mary --. Sarah was born ca. 1786. All their children were baptized in the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church, Bound Brook, Somerset County, New Jersey.

Abraham Bush was on the tax list for 1793, 1802, 1805, 1806, 1807, and 1808 in Bridgewater Township, Somerset County, New Jersey. An Abram Bush was on the 1803 householder tax list for the same location. That indicates this Abram didn't own land, but was married.

On Jun 23, 1807, "Abraham Bush and Sally his wife of the township of Bridgewater in the County of Somerset and State of New Jersey" sold land to "John Vorhis of the County of Somerset. . . in consideration of the sum of one hundred twelve dollars & thirty five cents" for 6.42 acres in Bridgewater Township. (Somerset County Deed Book F, pp 295-296)

On Mar 9, 1811, Abraham and Sally sold 17.25 acres that he inherited from his father to his nephew Alpheus Coon for $191.84. (Somerset County Deed Book F, pp 317-318)

On Mar 7, 1814, Abraham and Sally sold 52 acres that he inherited from his father to Thomas Hunston, his brother-in-law, for $100. (Somerset County Deed Book H, pp 410-411)

On Apr 9, 1814, Abraham and Sally sold 45 acres that he inherited from his father in Warren Township to Thomas Unneton (Hunston) for $205. (Somerset County Deed Book H, pp 146-147)

On Sep 12, 1814, a Private Abraham Bush of Somerset County, New Jersey enrolled in Captain John Logan's Company of Infantry, Third Regiment, New Jersey Detailed Militia, for the period of the duration of the War of 1812 (War with Great Britain) and deserted. (Officers and Men of New Jersey in Wars, Part V, War with Great Britain, 1812-1815, p. 104)

Three of Abraham's sons became hatters and/or clothing store owners.

Abraham Bush's funeral was Nov 18, 1840. (Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey, Vol 64, Jan 1989, p 1) Pastor Rodgers of the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church officiated. Abraham was buried in the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church cemetery. There is no headstone.
