Charles was known to his family and friends as Bill. The men he worked with both in the Air Force and at Roadway called him Sarge. Bill retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. Most of which was in the motor pool. After his retirement he went to work for Roadway. HE was a known workaholic.
He was a loving father to his three children, Charles Jr. who goes by Chuck, Camie and Sandra. Bill had several grandchildren and many friends.
After his divorce from his children's mother, Myrna (Bill)Blackburn Raetz, he became engaged to Sarah Felts, the love of his life. Sarah had a son James whom Bill loved like his own.
Bill worked hard and played harder. In addition to working full time at Roadway he worked a part time job and cared for three gardens. He canned and froze everything he grew. In his spare time he went dancing. Bill was an excellent dancer.
Bill or Sarge is missed and loved by so many.
