St. Matthews, SC - Mrs. Marian Rucker Robinson, 89, of St. Matthews, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Calhoun Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James McGee officiating. Burial will be in West End Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Coggins, Dewey Coggins, Fletcher Riley, Elliott Rucker, Howie Worsencroft and Ronnie Bozard.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Harry McBride and Mamie Asman Rucker. She was a retired bookkeeper for Fairey Motor Company of St. Matthews. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Rose Garden Club. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Nell B. Harrison Sunday School class. She was the widow of William Norman Robinson.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rickie L. (Christine) Eagle of St. Matthews, and Mrs. Norma Dantzler of St. Matthews; a sister, Mrs. Dewey L. (Aline) Coggins of Cayce; four grandchildren, Mrs. Timothy (Rene) D. Ott of Greenwood, F. Greg Smith Jr. of Charlestown, W.Va., John Robert Dantzler Jr. of Florence and Norman Russell Dantzler of Myrtle Beach; five great-grandchildren, Courtney, William and Chad Ott of Greenwood and Samantha and Kristen Dantzler of Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM on Thursday at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, Orangeburg.
