William Morgan, son of John and Rebecca Morgan was born May 2, 1852 and passed quietly away Dec. 12, 1925, at the home of his daughter Mrs. R. B. Hooten of Peru, Iowa, where he had spent the last three weeks of a long illness patiently. In his passing the community has sustained the loss of one who possessed a rare personality and temperament. His life both in his home and community was characterized by cheerfulness. He settled in Madison county in 1864 and was united in marriage to Emma Jones, May 11, 1881. To this union was born two sons and two daughters all of whom are living. He untied with the U.B. church in 1894 of which he was an active member at the time of his death. Also a past master of Madison Lodge 568 A. F. & A. M. and a member of the order of the Eastern Stars. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, two sons, two daughters, seven grand children, one great grand daughter and a number of other relatives and friends.
