HELEN L. BAKER

Helen L. Baker died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was born April 11, 1919 in Montreal, Canada to Antoinette (Couture) and Joseph LaVallee. She moved to Johnstown, N.Y. early in life then to Vestal, N.Y. She later relocated to South Carolina.

Helen was a homemaker and found great joy in raising her three children. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing and tatting.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Baker, whom she married May 30, 1941. She is survived by two sons, James Baker of Moncks Corners, South Carolina and Robert E. Baker of Harpinsville, N.Y.; a brother, John LaVallee of Johnstown; two granddaughters, Tara Baker and Sarah Baker; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Helen was predeceased by a son, Lawrence R. Baker.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Broadalbin-Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin, N.Y.
