Betsy Hunt Rice was born October 10, 1791 in Marlborough, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Jeremiah Hunt and Nancy Blodgett. She and Abel Rice were married 6-14-1813 in Northborough, Worcester, Massachusetts. It is impossible for Betsey Mills Thacher to be the wife of Abel Rice as she would only be 7 years old at the time of her death.
