Alvin, like three of his siblings, lived to a respectable old age, passing away at 91. In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Pearl; his children Bernice and Robert; his brother Clarence; and his sisters Melva Jobe Harvey and Ethel Johnson. Surviving were sister Isabell Herbert and numerous grandchildren.
