Joseph and Adam Alden were brothers and sons of John and Rebecca (Nightingale) Alden. They were born in Bridgewater, Mass., and became about 1772, settlers in the south east part of the town [Claremont, NH], being part owners of what was known as the "Alden 1200 acre farm." they were lineal descendants in the fourth generation of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins.
