Mr. Horner died at his son's home after an illness with Lagrippe. Burial in the Horner Cemetery on Toms Creek in Perry Co., TN, with Elder W. C. Pope conducting the funeral services. A Primitive Baptist Church member and a Confederate Soldier. Married twice; first to Miss Elizabeth Patterson, then Mrs. Katie Owens. Children were; Mrs. E. R. Patterson, Mrs. Myra Patterson, Mrs. Bettie Nix, Dr. Wm., & J. R. Horner, Mrs. Melinda Pace, C. A. Horner, Mrs. Dan Barry, J. C. and J. F. Horner, Mrs. J. R. Pope and a child who died in early infancy.
