Flintstone,Maryland --- Vance Williams Hartsock, 96, formerly of R.F.D. 1, Box 188, Flintstone, and residing at the Cumberland Nursing Home for the past four years, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 29, 1902, in Everett, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James Williams and the late Minnie (Akers) Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Lewis Hartsock, in 1958; a son, Lee W. Hartsock, in 1997; and several brothers and sisters.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Hartsock was a member of Prosperity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, James Hartsock and wife, Joan R. Hartsock, College Park; a step-daughter, E. Louise Kolb, Bethesda; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. only. Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Fred Iser and the Rev. Glenn Jones officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the Prosperity United Methodist Church, Pleasant Valley Road, N.E., Cumberland, MD.
