Christena was born June 16 1855 in Nova Scotia to Hugh McLeod and Catherine McDonald (both born in Scotland) Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Bruce Township, Bruce County, Ontario.
Christena married Francis (Frank) Mogg June 18 1884 in Southampton, Bruce, Ontario. While farming in Bruce Township they had 6 children:

In 1905 the family immigrated through Sarnia to Arenac County following several of Franks siblings and mother who had come earlier. They farmed in Clayton Township, Arenac, until Christena's death.
