John L. York, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the age of 77. John was born in Indianapolis on January 14, 1929 to parents, Arthur J. and Elsie (Harman) York. John served his country in the U.S. Army. During his career, he was a salesman for American Bakeries. He was also a member of Teamsters #135 and the American Legion Post 34. John is survived by his children: John D. York; Teagree Bailey (Byron); Debra Below (Ron); Mark York; Richard York; Terry Smith (Michael) and Lori York; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center- Broad Ripple. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at the funeral center on Thursday. Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery.
