Widow of Pioneer Missionary In State, Mrs. Alice Voss, Dies

Mrs. Alice Voss, 82 years old, pioneer Oklahoma resident and wife of an early-day Presbyterian missionary here, died Sunday night at the home of a son, William Voss, in Kansas City, Mo.

Born in Parkville, Mo., Mrs. Voss came to Oklahoma when the state was Indian territory, with her husband, the late William Ezra Voss, whose religious duties as a missionary took him over the state. They lived most of the time in El Reno, where Mrs. Voss made her home until recent years. Since then, she has lived at the homes of her children. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in El Reno.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian church in El Reno, with burial in the El Reno cemetery. Benson funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Besides her son in Kansas City, Mrs. Voss is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Amie Glossbrenner, Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Dora Watt, Pocasset; two other sons, L. M. Voss, 3212 North Harvey parkway, and Ernest Voss, Pampa, Texas; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
