MILDRED WALDRON
June 18, 1918 - January 24, 2009

Mildred Waldron was born on June 25, 1918 in Watalula, Arkansas to Osco and Karen (Davis) Carpenter. She went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, on January 24, 2009 at her residence in Bakersfield, California.

Mildred was raised in Arkansas and married Arthur Waldron November 10, 1937. They moved to Texas then to California working along the way during the Depression. They lived in McFarland for a short time and settled in Wasco in the early 1940's. After Arthur retired they moved to the Greenlee Family Farm in Bakersfield. Mildred served her family as a homemaker and in her younger years, she worked in the fields and potato sheds seasonally. She enjoyed fishing on the Sacramento River and Lake Isabella or any where the fish were. Mildred especially enjoyed the yearly trip to Burney for camping and deer hunting. She also enjoyed quilting and was able to make quilts for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Waldron who passed away in 1987; son, Arthur G. Waldron; grandson, Alan Greenlee; parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Mildred is survived by her daughters, Wilma Greenlee and husband Dale, Cathy McCaslin and husband David, all of Bakersfield; 3 granddaughters, Tammy Shipp, Carmen Howell and Charlene Miller, all of Bakersfield; 5 great grandchildren, Shanna Greenlee of San Francisco and Chris Shipp, Brittnee McCaslin, Caitlin Olinger and Abigail Miller, all of Bakersfield; brother, Vard Carpenter and wife Jean of Ozark, Arkansas; sister, Ophelia McLaughlin of Carson City; 2 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law, all of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews

Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 29 at 11am at Wasco Memorial Park for Mildred Waldron, age 90, of Bakersfield. Pastor George Dotson, nephew of Mildred will officiate the service. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 28 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
