Italian film and stage actor. He was born Alberto Zoboli. Best known for his roles in swash-buckling and actions films of the 1960s. His stage debut in 1946 at the Centro Sperimentale Universitario "Luigi Pirandello" of Genova, afterwards called Teatro d'Arte Citta' di Genova up to 1952. In the 1954 worked in Edmond Rostand's "Cyrano de Bergerac" with Gino Cervi. In the 1954 appeared in his first movie, Mario Camerini's film "Ulisse" and in the same year debut as actor in the photo story. Most popular also in television serials, he is remembered for: "La Cittadella" (1964), "Spiaggia Libera" (1965), "Il tormento e l'estasi" (original title: The Agony and the Ecstasy) directer by Carol Reed (1965), with Charlton Heston and Rex Harrison, "Io ti amo" (1968), "Chi ha paura di Virginia Woolf" (1977). After a long disease, reappeared in 1979 in "Action", "L'Eredita' della Priora" (1982) and "L'Amante dell'Orsa Maggiore" and died after a long convalescence at the age of 59.
