He was born to Andrew W. and Amanda Davenport on August 10, 1903, at Ingalls, Oklahoma. He moved to Winfield with his family at the age of two. He married Georgia Opal Landreth in 1932, who preceded him in death on August 23, 1970. He was employed at the City of Winfield Street Department and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charles Head of Winfield and Mrs. Viola Stone of Wichita; one brother Clarence of Winfield; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Warren and Mrs. Jessie Criger, both of Winfield; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery with Morris Funeral Home in charge.
