One of the earliest Catholic settlers in present day Montgomery County was Henry Bisbing (Pisbink), his son Henry Jr. and their families. They had located in the upper end of the country prior to 1734, and the senior Bisbing's death is one of the three recorded by Father Schneider, though he gives no year of the death. In the 1740's the Staab and Beverts families, for whom there are numerous entries in the registers, also lived in this section of Montgomery County, then Philadelphia County. (MBSC-book, page 53)
