Bessie Lee Thomas, 97, of Shiloh passed away October 19, 2011, in Mexia. Services were 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, at Shiloh Baptist Church, with Rev. David Snow and Mr. Neil Bond officiating. Interment was in the Shiloh Cemetery.
Bessie was born January 18, 1914, in Shiloh to Tom and Nora Woods McElroy. She was a life-long resident of the Shiloh area. She spent her life raising her children and caring for her family. She also loved raising birds. Bessie was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wallace Ainsworth and Jeff Thomas; children, Marietta Ann Bell and Garland Ainsworth; and siblings. Bessie is survived by six grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Family members served as pallbearers.
