Ethel Bamford died peacefully at her home where she had lived by herself for the last 13 years until the time of her death at age 94. She was born and raised in the San Luis Valley, CO. Her parents were Thomas Elijah Denton and Mary Elizabeth Turnbull Denton. She attended schools in Del Norte, CO. Ethel married Lee W. Bamford and they lived in Minnesota and Iowa before returning to Colorado in 1947. She worked as a cosmetic sales clerk in various drug stores in Grand Junction. Her husband, Lee, was a barber. He passed away in 1978. Also preceding Ethel in death were great granddaughter Lerisa Wark, and grandson-in-law Gordon Ray King. Ethel lived in California and Phoenix for a few years before returning to Grand Junction. Survivors include a son Richard L. (Belva) Bamford of Grand Junction and daughter Barbra L. (Terrance) O'Brien, of Phoenix; six grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Private Services are being held and burial will be in the Orchard Mesa Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
