W.R. Alexander was born in Dallas county, Missouri, on Feb. 16, 1868, and passed away at his home near Garrison on Feb. 26, 1946. He moved with his parents at an early age to Christian county and maintained a residence in that county throughout his lifetime. In Dec. 1900 he united in marriage to Margaret Ellen Nelson and to this union three children were born. His wife preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 1935. Early in life he professed faith in his Savior and consistently lived a life that attested to his faith. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. G.T. Case of Garrison; two sons, A.M. Alexander of Mt. Vernon and Herbert C. Alexander of Joplin; three half-brothers, G.F. Stinnett of Garrison, J.J. Stinnett of Augusta, Kansas, and T.B. Stinnett of Eldorado, Kansas; one half-sister, Mrs. Lula Peace of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon in the Garrison Baptist church by Rev. Roy Shipman. Interment was in the Garrison cemetery under direction of Chaffin of Ozark.
