CHILD BURNS TO DEATH

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Webb of Franklin, were called upon to suffer the loss of their little two-year-old daughter Ilah (sic) Beth this week. On Monday while Mr. Webb was some ten miles from home shucking corn, Mrs. Webb was obliged to go outside the house to thaw out some frozen pipes. She took with her the children except little Ilah and the two weeks old baby. When after a short absence she returned to the house she found the little girl standing by the window with her clothes all burned except her little shirt and diaper. As she was very careful about where she kept her matches she can not account for the terrible accident unless it may be she unknowingly dropped a match when she got some to use in thawing out the pipes. Grief stricken she summoned the neighbors, the doctor and her husband. They brought the little girl to the Superior hospital but she passed away just before they reached there. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Superior Wednesday and the interment was made at the Evergreen cemetery (sic). The parents have the sincerest sympathy of all in their bereavement.
