He spent his boyhood and young manhood in Republic, Kans., where he endured the hardships common to pioneer children. He learned the plasterer's trade and followed it the greater part of his life. He was a great lover of Nature and, for recreation, liked to fish and hunt.

He moved to Hollenberg, Kans. in 1910 where he was united in marriage to Henreita M. Hoxie, his wife, who preceded him in death at their home in Hollenberg, also preceeding him in death are his father and mother, four brothers and two sisters. Those that are left to mourn his loss are: Frank Hoxie of Imogene, Iowa; Mrs. Marvel Henderson of Hollenberg, Mrs. Elva Killean of Omaha, and a number of others neices and nephews and friends.

He was a patient sufferer and a kind friend to all. He will be greatly missed by his many friends.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Wilson at the piano and Mrs. Hagerman and Mrs. Frank Mahlman vocalists. Burial was made in the Hollenberg city cemetery.
