Lorane Hoxie, a young man 24 years of age, died yesterday from the effects of a wound in the left side of his abdomen inflicted two weeks ago by his brother, who accidentally shot him while firing at a target. The young men were laborers employed by the Belt line grade, and camped on Independence avenue, about one mile west of the Blue river. His mother, who lives in Kansas, was telegraphed immediately after the occurrance and arrived the next day, attending him during his illness. Coroner Rogers viewed the body, and, finding no evidence to warrant a further investigation, issued a burial certificate. The remains were interred at Union cemetery.
