Mrs. Georgia Belle McCroan, 99, of Altha, Fla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at her residence.

Mrs. McCroan was a lifelong resident of Altha, and was a member of Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. McCroan loved fishing, gardening and her church. Most of all, she loved her family. She was a very loving and compassionate person. She will be greatly missed by her community, her church, her family and everyone else who knew her.

Mrs. McCroan was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McCroan; as well as five sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her sister, the only remaining sibling of 12, Mamie Hildreth; two sons, J.L. McCroan and wife, Clara, of Altha and Kenneth "Dodge" McCroan and wife, Kathryne, of Coosada, Ala.; one daughter, Pat Ayers and husband, Gene, of Altha; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. McCroan will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Chris Goodman, the Rev. Larry Broom and the Rev. Jim McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery with Hall Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to funeral services.
