Robbie Lee Cason, 67, died
Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at
Evans Memorial Hospital. The
Bulloch County native had lived in
Tattnall County all his life. He served
as Chief of Police in Cobbtown in
1975 and as Chief of Police in
Reidsville from 1975 to 1977. He
retired from the Tattnall County
Sheriff's Department after 22 years of
service, and had served the past nine
years in many capacities as a Reserve
Deputy. He also served as a City
Councilman in Reidsville for District
2, as a Justice of the Peace, and as a
Constable. He was a member of
Georgia Peace Officers Association,
and a member of First United
Pentecostal Church in Glennville. He
was preceded in death by his parents,
Harry and Redetha Bath Cason; sister,
Catherine Weathers; and brother,
James Cason.
He is survived by his wife, Laura
Leola Cason of Reidsville; children:
Patricia and Timmy Barnard and Laura
and John Reddish, Sr., of Reidsville
and Robin and Douglas Yendell of
Augusta; special former son-in-law,
Ricky Curry of Reidsville; brothers:
Jolly Cason, Dwight Cason, Larry
Cason, and Terry Cason, all of
Glennville; Kyle Cason of Statesboro;
and Roger Cason of Rincon; sisters,
Virginia Bragg of Midway and Juanita
Williams of Glennville; grandchildren:
Robbie and Cassandra Barnard,
Kenneth and Brittany Barnard, Jamie
Reddish, John and Krystal Reddish,
Joshua Curry, and Caleb Curry; stepgrandchildren,
Alex and Tommy
Yendell; great-grandchildren, Camryn
Barnard and Maddox Reddish; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2
p.m. Friday, January 30, from the
Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral
Home in Glennville, with the Rev.
James M. Holland and the Rev. Oscar
Rowe, Jr., officiating. Burial was in
Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
on Hwy. 280 near Reidsville.
Active pallbearers were Jeff
Weathers, Tony Cason, David Cason,
Daniel Cason, Ronnie Cason, and
Roger Wayne Cason.
Honorary pallbearers were Sheriff
Quinton Rush and Deputies of the
Tattnall County Sheriff's Department.
Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home
of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge
of the arrangements.
