Death of Mrs. Alice Buntin
Mrs. Alice (Shearer) Buntin died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shearer, about noon Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1900, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Buntin was connected for many years as a teacher in the publilc schools of this county and was highly successful. A few years ago she received an appointment as teacher in
the U.S. school for indians at Anadarko, Ok. Ter. While there she met and married A.S. Buntin, a fellow teacher. [29 DEC 1896] A few months ago her health broke down under the arduous work and she came home with the hope that a rest might restore her, but the disease from which she suffered had made too great progress, and she slowly failed until the end came Tuesday.
She was an earnest christian woman of noble character and a bright cheerful disposition which attracted and won her many friends who will mourn her untimely death. The funeral services occur today at 2:30 p.m
